Fragrance inspired Bakery
So we decided to make our Christmas more special and interesting this year . It is a citrusy Christmas for us , inspired by our love for our Petitgrain candle . The fragrance revolves around the orange tree . Imagine on a chilly winter morning , you take a walk by the orange tree , you can smell the citrusy orange , which is slightly bitter , slightly sweet with some woody undertones . And so we wanted to translate this into Bakery . A unique idea , isnt it ?
And after a couple of trials , we finally found a cookie recipe . We would love to share it with all of you . Here is the receipe :
Ingredients :
1 medium orange ( 1/3 cup orange juice )
1 tbsp orange zest / 1 tsp lemon zest
1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup besan
1 tbsp corn starch
a pinch of salt
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
Topping :
white chocolate
orange zest
Method :
take a bowl and mix orange juice , brown sugar , olive oil . Whisk till the sugar is completely dissolved .
Sieve whole wheat flour , corn starch , baking powder , baking soda together .
Add orange zest and some lemon zest . Now add besan .
Mix eevrything together and make a soft dough .
Make small bowls and place it on a cookie tray .
Bake at 200 degree celcius for about 15-20 min ( depending on your oven )
Once done , let them cool .
Melt some white chcoloate on a double boiler . Drizzle it on the cookie and sprinkle some orange zest for the tangy flavour .
And there you have some lovely citrusy Christmas cookies . Yeahhh ,,, We dont say that we did complete justice to the beautiful fragrance Petitgrain , but it was quite close .
Have a Lovely Christmas everyone and do share your cookie image ,, we would love to see them :)
